I haven't seen Past Lives yet (will get to it, I promise!), but with the way you describe it and why you loved it, you may enjoy Columbus (2017) dir. Koganada.
I don’t know how you articulate the unarticulatable - but thank you. For understanding and saying and sharing something I could never express. I feel more human after reading your words. 💛💛💛
Thank you Esther. It wasn’t that easy 😅 There were a lot of things I could have said - so it was an exercise to focus on what was the heart of the matter. But human to human, is what it was all about :) 💛
Beautiful Kathryn. It resonates alot. And also helps me see that this can happen even with people you have known forever, if you have kept stuff hidden all that time. When the withdrawal is all there is. I am just venturing into the finding the words bit, and although it is proving difficult, it also proving (slowly) so beneficial. Thank you, this is a wonderful 'normalisation' xx
Thank you Clare - the withdrawal is so difficult, isn’t it? It’s like a complete shroud (which I suppose is the point!) But where nothing can get in, neither can we see out... And so we must learn to be tentative and brave, and slowly reach our hand out, when it seems the hardest thing in the world x
I read your newsletter this morning waiting at the bus stop oddly on my way to go see this film ... I felt so moved by your words! Then tonight, having seen the film, i read it again and felt even more feels 😭😍✨ always a treat to read your writing! 😀

Thank you Jasmine - I’d never heard of it, but having watched the trailer, I suspect you’re right. One of my evenings sorted 😊
