PS. I like you is a free weekly newsletter about how to accept yourself and all the other fun stuff about you. ✨
I’m currently creating a workshop called “How to discover, accept, and trust your pace.”
Can I let you in on a little secret?
I’m not sure there is such a thing as your 'pace.'
Allow me to explain…
What is pace? It’s the speed at which something moves.
So far, so good.
So, you can have a 'pace,' in that you have a speed at which you literally move.
And yes, in a set period of time you might physically cover a further distance than someone else (🎵 speed = distance/time! 🎶). But also, we all have 24 hours in a day… And so surely, given we’re all moving through time at the same rate (unless someone is time-travelling), do we not all have the same pace?
And if we all have the same pace, then why would it be a problem? Why would we care about it at all?
Spoiler: Our pace is only a 'problem' when it’s relational.
It’s only a problem when we compare our current position. To where we think our position should be.
Do you worry about the pace of the tree? Do you worry about the pace of the fruit bat?
Only if they’re not doing what you want them to do.
(PS. This happens. Climate change. Not their — the tree or the fruit bat’s — fault.)
I’ve created a workshop about accepting and trusting your pace. When what it should probably be called is, “How to discover, accept and trust where you are. Right now. Right here.”
To be clear, this title was suggested to me. (It’s part of The Gentle Business Gathering, starting 23rd January — hosted by Ashley Beaudin. Get your free ticket now! 💫👀)
And I’m forever grateful, because there’s no way I would have come up with a title myself; I was just happy, and flattered, to be invited. Heck, I’ll talk about whatever you want!
But really, I shouldn’t be surprised that in the end, I made it all come back to trusting yourself. The simple — if not easy — act of trusting yourself.
So, if you want some cracking exercises on how to not only accept your pace, but also, how to sink into self-trust and feel the truth of where you are in a way that isn’t overwhelming, but just 'is'…
…you don’t want to miss this.
You can sign up for the workshop — it’s free! — and all the other workshops at the Gentle Biz summit here: The Gentle Business Gathering. 23-25 Jan 2023.
Your pace isn’t a problem. It’s only a problem because we’ve been told so often — throughout our lives — that it’s a problem.
While my 30-minute workshop can’t undo all of that for you, it can definitely give you the tools and exercises to think again. To question whether it’s really a problem… or if you’re just, actually, exactly where you need to be.
Love,
Kathryn
