If you’re like a lot of my clients, you have a lot of ideas.
You have a lot of things you want to do and not enough time to do them all.
So, how do you know what to do?
First of all, I recommend acknowledging the simple matter of choice.
You have choice. And this is not to be underestimated.
Choice is what gives us the feeling of being in control. (And we like feeling in control.)
So rather than thinking you have all these things to do, or could be doing, but aren’t doing… I invite you take a moment to see this same situation, as one where you have choice. And notice how that feels.
Secondly, once you have choice, you get to choose.
What would make the most impact?
For example, if you wanted to grow your business, and you have an unlimited number of activities you could be doing… (true!), what three things would make the biggest impact? Today? Or, this week?
If you wanted to start a new art project, but weren’t sure whether to go with painting a landscape or starting an embroidery piece, which project would offer you the most impact, at this time?
‘Impact’ could be ‘I want to learn something new because that is what I’m craving.’ Or it could be ‘I don’t want to feel too challenged because I’m seeking comfort right now, and I want to feel like I’m doing something I’m good at.”
Impact in this context is what is most important to you at this time. It does not have to be impressive.
So, you have choice. And you have impact.
What are you going to do?
Love,
Kathryn

I really loved this Kathryn! As someone who always has far too many ideas vs time, it’s a nice reframe and a way to focus your attention!
